Margaretha Sundqvist organised, together with Marianne Dehlholm Dons (Denmark), the very first Tibetan Terrier World Congress in 1989 in Copenhagen. Since then, 16 congresses have taken place in The United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, The Netherlands, USA, Sweden, Norway and France. The next congress takes place in Sweden in September 2024. Don't miss it!

At the congresses, breeders, exhibitors and other enthusiasts devoted to the Tibetan Terrier have met and exchanged views on different breed relevant topics like hereditary conditions, health issues, sharing of information, breed standard, type and size but also more general topics as for instance reproduction etc. have been discussed. And an update of what is going on in the countries, the attendants come from, have to my knowledge always been a fixed item on the agenda. Discussions are open and different viewpoints fully acceptable.

The World Congress  attracts quite a few participants. Maybe also because it is not serious stuff. The opportunity to meet other enthusiasts, the come together dinner and the fact that alongside the congress a breed club show is usually arranged also attracts.

This year (2024) the World Congress takes place from the 30. th of August to the 1.st of September at in Hindås - about 13 km east of Landvetter airport.
